PART OF THE CRUSADER MILL COLLECTION

Part of 'UNIQUE EDITIONS' EXHIBITION

A site-specific CCTV installation in Crusader Mill, Manchester, that apparently links the Rogue Project Space gallery with neighbours Unique Knitwear, and Dream Knitwear. A monitor periodically switches between CCTV cameras within the gallery and ‘live’ feeds from the nearby factories. We can see the knitwear factory also has monitors upon which feeds from the gallery are being broadcast. The work creates an illusion that both spaces may be curious enough peer in to the other, and watch themselves being watched. Is it a romantic notion that these two communities might be interested in each other to become creatively intertwined?
